DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WBTM

VOC Compliant, Anti-spall Protective

Penetrating, High Solids Water Based

Concrete, Pavers, Stone and Masonry

Cure and Seal

Description

DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB is a VOC compliant, penetrating membrane forming curing and anti-spall penetrating

water repellent sealer for concrete, pavers, stone, and masonry. It produces a protective, continuous, glossy film

which has great UV resistance. Applied to fresh concrete, Diamond Plus Anti-Spall WBTM produces a clear, continuous

film, which effectively cures fresh concrete and provide a tough protective penetrating anti-spall film that enhances

the surface colors. Diamond Plus Anti-Spall WBTM is unique because, in addition to being an effective film forming

curing and sealing compound, it contains a special water repellent which penetrates the fresh concrete and provides

long term anti-spall protection for the concrete. Diamond Plus Anti-Spall WBTM can be applied to fresh concrete to

cure to ASTM C-309 standards. Unlike other curing compounds, Diamond Plus Anti-Spall WBTM penetrates, into the

pores of the concrete and forms a diamond like gel that meets the chloride ion restrictions of NCHRP 244 to reduce

the penetration of water, salts and deicing chemicals. Diamond Plus Anti-Spall WBTM performs with three different

binders. The first hardens the films surface like microscopic diamonds, fills the capillary pores and chemically anchors

the film to the surface. The second penetrates the surface and provides color enhancement, anti-spall barrier for long

term protection from deicing salts, and water damage. The third provides curing and protection from staining.

Primary Applications

• Curing, sealing and Anti-Spall concrete where a glossy finish and Best Protection is desired

• DRIVEWAYS, SIDEWALKS, SLABES, PATIO, STONE, BRICK, MASONRY, WALLS,

Features/Benefits

• Very low odor • Excellent cure and durable seal

• Anti-Spall • Perfect for interior or exterior projects

• Use on Pavers, Concrete, Stone, Masonry

The coverage rates are approximate and for estimating purposes only. Make test applications on actual surfaces to determine exact

coverage rates. Heavy applications, application in cool, cold, or humid conditions, or prolonged exposure to moisture may cause

DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB to be milky-white appearance. Follow all application instructions carefully.

Directions for Use

Surface Preparation, Existing Concrete: Surface must be structurally sound, clean, free of dust, dirt, laitance, efflorescence,

curing compound, paint, oil, grease and other contaminants. Prior to application, surface defects, voids, cracks and joints

should be properly treated and repaired. Concrete may be damp, but must be free of standing water. If acid has been

used to clean the surface, neutralize the surface prior to using DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB. Always test surface pH to

insure all acid has been neutralized prior to application.

Freshly Placed Concrete: Horizontal surfaces must be finished and show no surface “sheen” from bleed water.

Mixing: DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB requires stirring or agitation prior to use. Thoroughly mix

Diamond Plus Anti-Spall WBTM before applying or loading into application equipment.

Application: Apply DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB in an even, continuous film by sprayer, short-napped roller or brush.

Use an applicator pad or roller to pick up puddles or excess material from the surface. For a more uniform appearance,

especially over decorative concrete, it is recommended to back-roll the product after spraying. A second coat may be

applied depending upon the desired surface gloss. When applying to fresh concrete, a delay of 24 hours is recommended

before application of the second coat. If the delay between the first and second coat results in the contamination of the

surface, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned before the application of the second coat. When using DIAMOND PLUS

ANTI-SPALL WB to seal existing concrete, a second coat may be applied as soon as the first coat has dried 2 to 4 hours at

75°F (24°C). The surface porosity and the amount of surface sheen desired determines the selection of material for the

second coat. The sealed concrete can usually be opened to foot traffic in 8 to 12 hours, with maximum sealer durability

developed within 7 to 10 days. A light maintenance coat is recommended every 1 to 2 years depending on the concrete’s

exposure to traffic, abrasion, weathering, etc.

If using Sprayer: Strain material with a filter sock while pouring into spray unit. Water based materials splash and dry

on the bottom of the closed pail lid and fall back into the liquid and may clog spray tip if not strained.

Clean-Up

Clean up tools and equipment, overspray and drips with hot, soapy water. Dried product is very difficult to remove.

Precautions/Limitations

• DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB meets the tile adhesive bond requirements of ASTM 1315. However, an on-site

test is recommended to verify that the specific adhesives to be used on a project will adequately bond to DIAMOND

PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB.

• Store between 50°F - 90°F (10°C - 32°C). Do not allow to freeze.

• Application temperature range is 45° - 95°F (7° - 35°C).

• Do not apply DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB to frost-filled or frozen surfaces.

• Heavy applications, applying in cool or cold weather, or prolonged exposure to moisture may cause this product to

have a milky appearance.

• High humidity conditions and very hot/windy days will adversely affect drying and performance of this product.

• Do not apply if rain or heavy fog is likely within 8 to 12 hours after application.

• Before applying DIAMOND PLUS ANTI-SPALL WB to the entire surface, test a small area to verify appearance on the

substrate.

• Do not use on glazed surfaces or over ceramic tile.

• The sealer may slightly darken the surface and highlight surface imperfections.

• In all cases, consult the Safety Data Sheet before use. WARRANTY: STONE MOUNTAIN CONCRETE SOLUTIONS, LLC (“SMCS”) solely and expressly warrants that its products shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
